THE SPRING SEASON was inaugurated with a bang by a meeting of the more recent graduates in the Tap Room of the Goebel Brewery. The fact that this source of entertainment has since been closed off by gubernatorial edict is a great disappointment to those who attended. If a change in policy comes along, we hope that more of these parties can be held.

A joint golf tournament with the Cornell Club was held at the Detroit Golf Club early in June. The results were too confusing to tabulate, but the distinguishing feature of the evening was the absence of a crew race. Jake Wetherby 'l9, former amateur golf champion of Minnesota, played on our team on his way through for his twentieth reunion.

Among Detroiters seen or heard at reunion in Hanover were Ike Maynard 'O5. Bert Wood 'l4, Staff Hudson 'l9, Phil Watson 'l9, Jack Angell, Jack Brabb, Dick Brown, Dick Eberline, all '29, and Fred Weiss '36.

The club now has on record the following members of the class of 1939 and takes real pleasure in welcoming them into the alumni group: James H. Allen, William Bachman Jr., Ralph Champney Jr., Lawrence Gotfredson Jr., Joseph Mason, Richard Monahon, and Ray Newton Jr. Other newcomers to our records are also welcome, and among these are Ray Murray 'si, Arthur Everit '23, Edward Quint '25, Laurence Scoville '26, and Richard Eubank '37.

A sailing party was held in August lor about twenty members on a 48-foot ketch. 1 here was plenty of beer to go around but not enough wind. There was compensation for this, though, for the motor worked, and fine singing led by Staff Hudson 'l9 and accompanied by Ford Blickley '2B on his accordion filled out the evening. A repeat performance was given a week later on which the wives were included.

One of the recent regular Tuesday luncheons at the Savoyard Club in the Buhl Building was set up to include the boys entering in the class of 1943 this fall. Charlie Bennett 'OB brought Charles Jr. and Kirk Denier. Lane Donovan '36 and Bill Donovan '42 brought their brother Tim. James Kerley Jr., whose father was in the Class of 1910, also came. Others were unable to attend, having left early for Hanover.

When you are in Detroit on Tuesdays be sure to drop in for lunch with us.
