THE SUMMER SEASON was climaxed here with a sendoff luncheon for the members of the class of 1944, twelve being the number expected to register in Hanover from this area. Forty alumni, undergraduates and freshmen-to-be attended, while President Bud Hulett '35 gave a talk on what was expected of them in Hanover. What has turned out to be an annual affair took place in August, when a group of alumni went for a sail on a chartered ketch. Close harmony was lead by Staff Hudson '19 and Heinie Swarthout '30, accompanied by Ford Blickley '28 on the accordion. Another evening later on drew a mixed party which was equally successful.
Considerable work has been done behind the scenes by our Vocational Guidance Committee. Art Lyman '27 is the chairman and is glad to talk things over with applicants, but is also on the lookout for openings for Dartmouth men. Among the new names added to the secretary's list are the following: Karl Zint ' 16, Donald Russell '23, Herb Bissell '29, and Bob MacLeod '39. Just heard that Jack Reeder '25 is being transferred to New York, on which venture he has our best wishes.
This is to extend a hearty welcome to our newest alumni, the Detroit members of the class of 1940: Stuart Anderson, Edwin Bovill Jr., Bob Breech, T. J. Dunford, John Lamb, Bill Lucking Jr., Clay Mac- Donald Jr., Bruce Miller, Atwell Smith, and Howard Stockwell Jr.
