THOSE OF YOU who missed the picnic really missed the time of your lives. We not only had fun but also the largest turnout of any meeting since the organization started. Of course, the gals helped swell the total, but at one time or another your scribe accounted for forty-eight.
After playing badminton (incidentally Mrs. Robert Simonds showed us how it should be done even while declaring she never had a badminton racquet in her hand) a big league ball game got under way. The final score resembled the war debt with those born on even dates beating the unfortunates born on uneven dates 34 to 29. A most delightful dinner was served in the lodge on Lee Bausher s farm, where the party took place, after which we enjoyed movies of Carnival.
If you look closely you will find in the group pictured above Mr. E. Kenneth Smiley, Mrs. Louis F. Ekstrom, Mrs. Arthur L. Zulick, one half of Art Zulick 'lB, Jim Rick '3l, Guy Mehlhorn '37, and Miss Betty Houck. Ken Smiley '2l can just be seen peeping over the mighty Mehlhorn's shoulder.
In addition to this group the following boys and girls were seen dotting the landscape during the course o£ the afternoon: Mr. and Mrs. John Young and their son Courtland Young '4l, Charlotte and Andy- Marshall '22, Fred Koller '36 and his sister Kitty Koller, Louis Ekstrom 'l2, Caroline and Carl Erdman '37, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Chickering '33, Randy Klinefelter '34 and five guests including Bill Wyne '3B and Albert Coons '43.
