Classmate Don Williams is an active member of the Cheshire County, N. H., Alumni Association. At a recent meeting of that Association he was appointed to membership on one of the Association's standing committees.

Dr. Harry Storrs has a son, Richard Hall, in the first year class of the Medical School, and another, Robert Colby, in the junior class of the College.

Bob Cushman '39, son of Norman Cushman 'O7, is captain of the swimming team and is specializing in the 100-yard dash and the 400-yard relay.

The Secretary had a pleasant visit with Helen and Bill Cummings recently en route to Washington, D. C. Bill is a member of the Wage and Hour Committee, appointed by the Wage and Hour Administrator to recommend a minimum wage for the Woolen Textile Industry.

Bill Smart claims that he has made a new record, one that he isn't very jubilant about. At the recent annual alumni dinner in Boston, Bill was the only 'O7 man present . . .a record that something will have to be done-about!

A recent copy of the American Lumberman carries the following interesting report about our classmate Jamison:

"At the annual meeting of the lowa Retail Lumbermen's Association at Des Moines, lowa, attended by six hundred dealers, in February, George H. Jamison, retiring president, was presented with a Remington Sportsman gun. Jamie, whose home and business is in Oelwein, lowa, will continue his interest in the Association, working as a director."

The Boston Transcript of February 28 announces the engagement of Miss Phyllis Gerry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cardell Gerry of Providence, R. 1., to John Gilmore Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Murray Williams of New York.

The McLane family as usual figures prominently in winter sports activities in Northern New England. The Boston Herald of March 5 mentions Charles and Elizabeth McLane as participants in the Ski Club's Hochgebirg's Ninth Annual Challenge Cup Competition on Cannon Mountain near Franconia, N. H. Charles finished Bth in the Men's Downhill Race, the three leaders being ski instructors, and Elizabeth finished second in the Women's Downhill Race.

George Liscomb, keenly interested since undergraduate days in Richard Hovey and his work, has recently been appointed chairman of a committee for appropriate Hovey commemoration by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston. In another part of this issue of the MAGAZINE, a communication to the editor is published, urging rather general observance by Dartmouth alumni of Hovey's birthday on May 4.
