To KEEP A PROMISE made in our column last month we herewith list all those who attended our celebration of Dartmouth Night at the Wyomissing Club: Walt Bowlby '27, Bill Breitinger '37, Bill Bucher '32, Johnny Dessau '18, Bud Erdman '37, Shorty Gray '19, Hugo Gumbart '16, Val Klopp '09, Jim Rick '31, Bob Ritter '18, Milt Shultz '30, Ken Smiley '21, Frank Tragle' 30, and Al Zulick '18.

Ken Smiley '21 was the principal speaker of the evening. His subject"What Makes a College Great," covered all colleges, but emphasized Dartmouth in particular. Ken told us that a college is not great due to its football team, number of students, physical plant, faculty, students themselves, or a combination of the aforementioned. Rather a college, Dartmouth College, is great because of the spirit which exists in the hearts and minds of those with whom we come in contact.

After a few minor changes, it was voted to accept the constitution presented by Walt Bowlby '27.

During the course of the evening the men present discussed the advisability of instituting yearly dues. The discussion of this subject was prolonged and intense, but we finally decided to collect $2.00 a year from all members in our group. So don't be surprised if you receive a letter from Bob Ritter '18, Al Zulick '18, Hugo Gumbart, Jr. '16, or Jim Rick '31 asking for your contribution. We sincerely believe by adopting this procedure that the cost of future meetings can be held down to a very small per capita figure.

Perhaps one of the most important decisions made at this meeting was the ratification and approval of a suggestion to submit the name of Andy Marshall '22 as a candidate for the Alumni Council from District II which covers New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The nomination has been accepted and balloting will take place up to June 10th.

The June picnic will take place in or near Orwigsburg under the guidance of "Chef" Zulick '18. Make plans now to be there-Dutch Bausher '21, Rog Graves '37, Shorty Grey '19, Andy Marshall '22, Guy Mehlhorn '37, Jim Rick '31, Bob Ritter '18, Ken Smiley '21 or yours truly can tell you why this is a "must" meeting.
