Dick and Julie Spencer have spent a good part of the last year moving—from Hartford to Milford to Fairfield to Albany where they are now established. The usual modest Dick is very vague about the nature of the job, but it is our opinion that he is now a special agent with the same big insurance company he started with—which saves naming names. He reports that ambulance chaser Bill Crangle, country squire from St. Johnsville, N. Y., is doing a fine job as a lawyer.
Slugger Arthur Aegis Atkinson is batting one thousand with one Hitt in one trip to the plate. Art was married in Greenwich, Conn, to Mary Louise Hitt Sept. 16th. He is still with Alexander and Ditto, N. Y., insurance firm Big Joe Smith of Bendix aviation has announced his engagement to Virginia Noonan of Caldwell, N. J Whitlock entered wedlock back in August when Ed was married in the chapel of the University of Chicago to Virginia Lowry of Eldorado, Illinois. He works in Chicago with Newhouse and Sayre. (Please advise who are N and S.)
Among the unrelated Aliens we have Dick, who is now a student actuary with the National Life Insurance Company of Montpelier, Vt.; Tom, who is an estates teller in the Cleveland Trust Cos.; George, who got his MS in chemistry from Penn State several years ago—is still studying and is an American (truly great) Cyanamid Chemist; while strong silent Junie Allen as usual refuses to divulge where he is or where he is doing it.
Nick Boyd and Gil Portmore helped officiate at the wedding of Virginia Matheson up in Belmont, Mass., but they didn't steal the spotlight from the groom who will be remembered in Hanover for his brilliant dramatic portrayal of a punch drunk prizefighter —Munroe "Fitz" Fitzherbert Bob Kittell got a swell looking wife in Dorothy Smith of Scotia, N. Y. Bob—lives in Albany and is with Personal Finance Co And that probably doesn't cover all the recent marriages but is a good start on them.
Jim Atwill, smooth gentleman from Missouri seems to be in a nice spot as municipal bond buyer for Stern Bros., of Kansas City Bob Eaton instructs in economics at Nichols Jr. College, Dudley, Mass., and some vague report has it that he also coaches soccer. Can this be true. Bob?. .. .What's Tom Hart doing, and where is Art "Savoy" Funk?. . . .Little El Doyle's a lawyer on Long Island Cliff England, statistician for Poor's Publishing Co., in Boston, went on a postman's holiday recently to get inside information on his fellow Theta Chis and promised a report. So far none has been received. However, the shock of finding Ed Nilsson weeding his lawn in front of the little cottage in Longmeadow, Mass., was probably too great. (The Nilsson's hospitality following A 1 Gibney's wedding was notable.)
Norb Hoffman is Sales Manager for Man—Low Inc.—an outfit that does photo, graphic displays—and displays his usual optimistic energy in seeking customers. ....The Scherman special "spot shot" is well known to all LIFE readers now—Dang having been on the spot when one hundred and fifty-five North Carolina debs came out at once—when beautiful model posed on Cape Cod beach—and over every spot in the country in a small plane showing us what the U. S. looks like to the average flier Emil Hokanson LLB from the University of Wisconsin practices out in Madison, Wisconsin. Ed Merrill is cashier for the National Theatre Supply Company here in New York Matt Marks is another Columbia Law man who is now probably practicing in the wide, wide world between ski trips.... .Dug Porter is Vice Pres. of Irvin's Inc., of Battle Creek, Michigan, manufacturers of fine bottles. Seems like a mighty fitting job for a father of two.
Cliff Roe, as far as we know, is apparently out in Detroit in the sales end of the American Blower Corp Smedley Smith, self proclaimed diving champ of New York, is considered a very fortunate citizen; he owes his thanks to the timely assistance of some tough divers from New York's East side, the "Aquamaniacs." Smed was set upon in the Sawmill River Country by some thugs who were distressingly surprised when the car behind ground to a stop and discharged five members of the Aquamaniac Brotherhood. Smed came through without a scratch—the thugs found their heads sandwiched between the concrete and aquamanical fists Johnny "Redbeard" Fager has been playing with a Chemcraft set at the University of Michigan.

We had some dope on Bob Chaffee who is a vertebrate paleontology preparator in the Academy of National Sciences of Pennsylvania Walt, the "Satchel," Stewart is down at Johns Hopkins doing some sort of experimenting—not with ants and plaster cast we hope. Here's another classmate who has had sense and courage enough to keep out of the cities and has gone to where you don't have to worry about making the 7:53 or being caught by the boss with your hat on before five o'clock. EarlCopp finds himself in a predicament very similar to that of the ancient mariner (you'll have to remember the verse yourselves). He is teaching English at Asheville College down in North Carolina, and it's a woman's college. Finds teaching the most fascinating kind of work—which sentiment should have plenty of backers especially among the while collar "not much money but a fine opportunity" group.
