If names make news, the cup is running over this month.
When the Civil Defense of Trumbull, Conn., announced that the flood waters of Tequonnock Creek had begun to recede, Harold Miller thought he had earned a good night's sleep. He had watched the Creek overflow its banks, spread out about 100 yards and creep under the cellar door. With the aid of his wife Florence, he was able to disconnect his new oil burner and carry it upstairs to the kitchen. He could not move the automatic laundry, dryer and ironer before about two feet of water flooded the cellar. And so to bed for Harold.
At 3 a.m. he was aroused and ordered to vacate his house. The Creek had risen thirteen feet and was lapping at the threshold of the kitchen door when police carried Florence from her home. Harold waded waist deep alongside (carrying a copy of the 1936 Aegis).
