I recently read an interesting article with photographs on the Roth Jewish Center at Dartmouth in one of my furniture magazines. I immediately thought of Bernice Corhen, widow of our late classmate Mayo, and sent her same, which she in turn gave to Rabbi Edward Boraz. Bernice gave the eternal light that hangs in the sanctuary in memory of Mayo. She went to Mexico with her family in November and is looking forward to another trip to Juneau, Alaska, the end of June, when her granddaughter will have her bar mitzvah. It will be especially exciting as it will be a reunion of her family.
We took a short trip north (30-some-odd miles) to Southbury, Connecticut, to see a healthcare retirement center, East Hills Woods, where Marge and Bob Griffin live. We asked the marketing director if we could see them and were told that Bob had a heart operation a few days previously and she did not know whether he could be seen. He could, so we had an enjoyable but short visit—he looked fine and hoped to make our September mini.
It is with extreme sadness that we advise the deaths of seven '34s, all this year—Bill Rench in February, Brice Banks March 15, "Buz" Hartman April 12, Fred Sanborn April 26, "Chic" Chickering and Dick Houck May 14 and I. M. Sulzbacher June 5. We will miss seeing Dick Houck and his lovely daughter Janice Eldridge at our minis. Our sympathies to all families.
