A VALUABLE COLLECTION of meteorites, augmenting the two specimens in the Dartmouth College Museum, have been presented to the College by Mason A. Lewis '08 of Denver, Colo. The collection, which was gathered by Dr. H. H. Nininger, director of the Meteoritic Laboratory of Denver, includes twelve pieces.
Seven of the specimens were added to the Museum collection and the other five were put in Silsby Hall, headquarters of the natural science departments. The gift from Mr. Lewis represents meteoric "falls' from many parts of the United States and Mexico and provides the College with a collection that was badly needed for geology courses.
Mr. Lewis is a member of the Denver law firm of Lewis and Grant.
