WITH PRESIDENT HOPKINS as guest of honor, the annual banquet on February 19 was a great success. While the program of the banquet was reported last month, for the sake of the record, and for the benefit of those who might have had any doubts, the new slate of officers was elected as proposed by the nominating committee. They are already hard at work mapping out the activities for 1940-1941.
March 15 the association was honored by having Dean E. Gordon Bill speak at a dinner meeting which took the place of the usual monthly noon meeting. Alumni and fathers of Dartmouth men were invited to hear Dean Bill talk on some of the aspects of his work as Dean of the Faculty, and all agreed it was a most enjoyable and instructive evening.
The entertainment committee of Pete Callaway '30, John Wright '32, and Fred Uhlemann '30 have been planning a super party when the Glee Club and Barbary Coast Orchestra give their concert on April 6. This is a Saturday night and the party is at the Drake Hotel, Gold Coast Room. All present indications point to a good time for everyone. Aside from sheer entertainment, the party will have more lasting value in that the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be used for the Scholarship Fund.
One of the committees seldom heard about, but whose activities every recent alumnus from Chicago knows, has been busy these past few weeks interviewing applicants for the class of '44. Chicago expects to send a fine group to Hanover next Fall.
The luncheon committee is working on a program for regular meetings and further announcement will be made of their progress later. Watch your mail!
