To OPEN THE FALL season, the Dartmouth Club of Detroit held its annual send-off luncheon for the undergraduates and entering freshmen from this territory.
President Dave Williams '35 conducted the meeting and spoke some words of wisdom. Although some of the freshmen had already left for the orientation week, several attended.
Among those planning to start at Hanover this fall are: Holt Ackerman, James Field, Robert Hacker, William Merrill, David Mott, Wardner Penberthy, James Robb Jr., Allen Russell, Arthur Staub, Andrew TenEyck, Howard Walton Jr., Thomas Candler, and Philip Whelan.
Supplementing the Office of Alumni Records list of July, some additional names of men now in the Service or about to enter are: Bill Blakeslee '35, Chuck Delb ridge '36, Fred Weiss '36, Bill Bachman '39, Joe Mason '39, Bob Breech '4O, and Bill Donovan '42.
The summer did not get by without the annual cruise on the ketch "Artisan." In spite of rain and a tremendous electrical display, the boys enjoyed the outing.
Plans are being made for wires and broadcasts of the football games again this fall. These will be announced as soon as arrangements are made.
