Further information about wedding anniversaries has come to the Secretary. See the class notes for 1868 in this issue of the MAGAZINE for a sonnet on the 40th wedding anniversary of our esteemed Latin professor, John K. Lord, and Mrs. Lord. Fairbanks tells us where this sonnet was found. He says: "It turned up among some of my old papers the other day." As we read this sonnet we remember that Mrs. Fairbanks was a niece of Professor Lord.
A letter from Mary Frost, by implication, reminds us that golden weddings are notin it with the 66th year wedding anniversary which her parents once celebrated.
A 15-page booklet giving the memorial exercises held for Thompson at the State Normal College at Fitchburg, Mass., has been printed. I have 4 copies for distribution and can get more if requested. Few of our '86 men knew how great an educational pioneer Thompson was. In this booklet the story is told by men and women who worked with him.
See the 1912 class notes in the January MAGAZINE for account of Conrad Snow's call to Washington to have charge of contracts for the War Department.
Newton writes that Ward Stetson, son of our Stetson, has been sent to the Massachusetts Legislature to represent the town of Middleboro.
For holiday greetings from more than a dozen of our '86 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Thurston and I thank you.
