ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31st, the Annual Christmas Luncheon was held at the University Club, with some 80 odd "Dartmouth—interests" attending. Of these 80, approximately 20 were applicants for the freshman class of 1941-42, and some 10 or 15 were students at the College at present.
Short talks were given by two Philadelphia Class Presidents, Lou Young, President of the Senior Class, who told of the Cornell Victory and Bud Troxell, the President of the freshman class. A few words were also presented to the group by Don Rogers, the President of the Association, and Lou Young Sr.
We in Philadelphia are certain that such an admirable turnout, plus the glory of two class presidents from this district, will prove even more of an incentive, if such is necessary, to convince the prospective freshmen what a fine choice they have made in picking Dartmouth as a college to attend.
Needless to say, around the tables the main topic of conversation before, during and after luncheon were the words of knowledge offered by Lou Young Jr. regarding the Cornell victory.
Great plans are being made at present for the Annual Dinner, the date of which has not been selected awaiting word from President Hopkins who has promised to attend.
As always, an invitation is extended to all Dartmouth faces in the vicinity to attend the weekly luncheons on the 8th floor of the University Club at 12:30 on Tuesdays. Incidentally, practically everyone in this vicinity has offered their services to coach the team, if necessary.
