Hey, look at our official 25th reunion symbol! Designed by Len Clark who, you can tell, is no downstream beer drinker. He is definitely from the high country. And '56 Out is no mere slogan. It is the call of the wild (and the mighty meek) to meet in Hanover next June to swap yarns or just laugh at one another. Better yet, laugh with one another. After talking with several dubious '55s who made the trip from Georgia, Texas, and California this past June, they were thrilled they had made the effort. So plan to make it. Your classmates want to see you. Equally as important, be sure you have sent Elliott Weinstein your biography with pictures of yourself and/or family.

As you all know, our recent Alumni Fund participation broke all records since we graduated and, as Doug Keare pointed out in a letter to me, many of our classmates are play ing important roles in the affairs of the College and its "community." For example, TinyStrong was just elected vice president of the Alumni Council, which means he will be president during 1981-1982. Russ Brace has been appointed to the executive committee of the Alumni Council along with Tiny. Bob Dan-ziger, Bill Sherman, and Bob Montgomery all serve on the Alumni Council; Danziger looks after Tuck School and Sherman looks after athletics. Ken Geary is president of the Dartmouth Club Officers' Association. FlintRanney is vice president of the newsletter editors and wiN be president next year. As Doug points out, "That ain't bad."

On July 1, classmate Howard H. Newman assumed his new duties as the administrator of the U.S. Health Care Financing Administration in Washington. Howard will be on a leave of absence from his presidency of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he has been since 1974. This appointment is a distinguished national health position and we are proud to have a classmate going to Washington to attempt to get that city headed in the right direction. Fortunately for Howard, there are some squash courts in the nation's capitol so he can release his frustrations. Howard is a top squash player and hopes he will find time to stay in shape. Good Luck.

Jon R. Gundersen has recently been appointed as director of compensation and benefits for Humana, Inc., a Louisville-based company that owns and operates 92 hospitals in 23 states and Europe. Previously, Jon has been with the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the same capacity.

And from Massachusetts we hear that ChuckSoule was awarded one of the highest recognitions of the Boy Scouts of America, the coveted Silver Beaver Award.
