Up TO THIS TIME we have met and "interviewed" five promising candidates for the class of '45, a smaller number than usual.
Our holiday luncheon with undergraduates as guests was fairly well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all present. The sound-movie story of the Dartmouth-Cornell football battle of 1940, presented at our January meeting, brought out the largest attendance of the season. The movements of the players are clearly brought out, in spite of the failing light and falling snow, and the commentary is admirably fitted to the action on the screen. New members welcomed at this meeting were: Em Day '34, Dick Funkhouser '40, Amos Little '39, Ted Rideout 37' Lieut. Dr. John T. Smith '30, from Annapolis, Stephen Waite '29, Alex Young '32, not to mention George Hoban '12, whom we see all too seldom. A Dartmouth family circle, consisting of Art Flinner '35, Charlie Keyes '38, Colin Churchill '39 and Jake Holland '39 has recently been broken up by the defection of Flinner and Keyes, the former to join the army of Uncle Sam, the latter to join the noble army of Benedicts.
For our next meeting, February 27, we have scheduled a "stellar attraction" in the person of Dean Neidlinger, from whom we expect to hear all about the present state of the College.
