The law firm of Powers and Hall, 30 Federal Street, Boston, has announced that on April 1, 1941, Matt B. Jones, Jr. became a member of the firm. This recalls the old firm of Powers, Hall and Jones with which our own M. B. first began his practice of law. It was an all Dartmouth firm the other members being Samuel L. Powers '74 and E. K. Hall '9a.

A letter from Dutton indicates that he and his wife and Trow and his wife had a "miniature reunion" at the home of Trow's daughter not far from Kingston, New York. "Trow seems to be quite well." Dutton himself reports, "I get around every day but do not do any business. I had over forty years of road work and am not making any kick as to health." Dutton's wife seems to be sold on the Class of '94 taking her cue the way that she was treated at the last reunion. Dutton says, "Wilson and I already are at least talking of attending Round-up next fall. I heartedly approve of continuing them."

Mrs. Samuel Miller Davenport has had the honor of announcing the marriage of her daughter Margaret Virginia to John Gordon Nutt, son of John J. Nutt, on Sunday, the thirtieth of March, at Clearwater, Florida. The couple are at home after the fifteenth of April at 427 East Mobile Street, Florence, Alabama. Well, when you call on our classmate Jack in New York and don't find him he will probably be in Alabama.

Archie Matthews, exercised unusual restraint last winter with regard to his travels. He made a Christmas vacation cruise to the Panama Canal calling at Havana going and coming, and spending a day at Guatemala. Aside from that he hasn't been away from home except to go to Albany.

The Vice President of the Class, Fred Claggett, has written in a most interesting way about his trip to Florida last winter. In due time the details of the trip will be shared with the readers of this column. Enough now to say that a trip to Florida is a hardy annual with the Vice President and his wife. It goes along with his yearly fishing expedition down East.

It was Dr. Claggett who sent the Secretary first word about the illness o£ John Phillips- John has been under hospital care since the sixth of January. "It was a pulmonary affection which had some effect on the other organs." An attack of grippe in April put back his recovery but his wife expressed the hope that his strong constitution would overcome even this handicap. Last fall John was back at Phillips Academy taking the Latin classes of one of the teachers who was ill. They are selling their house at Webster Lake and do not expect to spend any time there this summer. Says Mrs. Phillips: "I remember the Forty-Fifth Reunion so pleasantly at Hanover. We both had such a good time. With greetings to you and '94 from my hubby."
