We had a very fine turnout at our annual program for high school seniors, and the turnout bore witness to the fact that the Enrollment Committee, under the capable hand of Howard Pitts '53, had earned its salt for another job well done. About sixty high school students joined us at the Ridgewood Country Club on Sunday, December 29 to get "An Introduction To Dartmouth." The short program consisted of a talk by Stephen Shaul '65 and the color slide series on the College with narration by Thad Seymour.

Stephen Shaul spoke of Dartmouth from the student standpoint, told the boys what to expect when they arrived for freshman year, told what the College would expect of them, and finally described that entity known as the Dartmouth Spirit. He gave such a glowing description of Dartmouth, including such familiar necessities as the football bonfires, the feeling one has looking over to the Row in winter, the good fellowship of the freshman trip, winter sports and even spring thaw, that an air of deep nostalgia came over those alumni that were present.

A brief question and answer period followed during which time the candidates derived more substantial and detailed answers than can be found in a catalog. This is a program that our Club sponsors annually and is one of the most rewarding of our programs, for it brings us in direct contact with the College and with that very "stuff" that will in the future constitute our beloved Dartmouth.
