The distinguished career of the late Otis Ellis Hovey '85 is described in this issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE by Professor Kimball of the Thayer School and Secretary Bayley of the class of 1885. In breadth of accomplishment in the field of engineering and in variety of talent and achievement it would be difficult to duplicate Mr. Hovey's record. He was devoted to the interests of the Thayer School which he served for 34 years as a member of its Board of Overseers. Perhaps more than any other man except Professor Robert Fletcher, immortal to Thayer School men, he left his mark on the School which he delighted to see housed in a fine new building and strengthened by increased enrollment. We are glad that tribute was paid to Mr. Hovey in these pages during his life. We regret that the articles this month are In Memoriam.
