GAP" PALMER is co-author with Jean-Marie Putnam, assisted by the illustrator Lynette Arouni, o£ a book designed to satisfy the current demand for guessing games, and at the same time, to amuse and instruct.

Children, and grown ups as well, should be interested in knowing the names and simple facts about our most common flowers. This book serves this purpose, and does it not only painlessly but amusingly and pleasantly.

First there is a puzzling drawing, then a poem or versified charade (contributed by Mr. Palmer) giving the cues to the name of the flower, which is reproduced in a colored drawing on the following page. Most of the drawings and verses are simple to guess. Just opposite the illustrated flower, there is a page of text giving the flower's history, etc. All this may sound complicated, but is, in fact, clear and simple.

This book will please any lover of flowers young or old.
