From the news that filters through as grist for the Secretary's mill, it is apparent that CHANGE at an ever-increasing tempo is the keynote to '37 doings. There are changes in rank, changes in address, more job changes, and more marriages than ever before. As the reality of the present grows grimmer it looks as though only a few 4-F's stand firm to be links with a fast-receding past.
Leaving 4-F's and digging in the mailbag, we have one from Latta McCray giving a hint of something on the fire which may be a nice break for himself Bill Timbers comes in for some praise from Latta for his part in a big Wills case, the Paton case featured in New York dailies. ... .Dana Prescott, as a Ist Lieut., is still teaching prospective officers of the Signal Corps at Fort Monmouth George Skinner finally lets us in on his marriage to Ethel Galloway of Walpole, N. H. It's snd Lieut. Skinner, specializing in Anti-Air craft at Camp Stewart, Ga.
Two letters from enthusiastic wives of '37ers, anxious to carry on, and keep up the interest while friend husband is off fighting. Barbara McKinlay and Marge Ruggles let us in on some news. How about a few letters from some more '37 betterhalves? The mail-bag is kind of lean these days and it would be great if more wives would follow Marge and Barbara's example and let us in on what's new in '37 circles in your section. Marge Ruggles is carrying on the Treasurer's job since Acting-Corporal Ruggles led his squad of inductees off to Atlantic City. Keep your dues rolling in to either Mr. or Mrs. Art Ruggles, Deerfield, Mass., and they will be cared for tenderly.
Bob Greene finally made it, but before being inducted, plans on inducting Barbara Rich of Clinton, lowa, and Rockford College into the Green Clan Park Joßnston, Roper, Berkowitz, Wagner, and Noyes all took the same indoctrination course at Tower Hall in Chicago. Showing how the boys can spread fast, Noyes ended up in the Pacific somewhere, Wagner and Johnston at Mine School in Virginia, Mort on a destroyer in the Atlantic, while Roper went around the corner for another beer.
