AI Bryant writes from Akron, Ohio about his second son, Timothy Clark Bryant, who like his older brother may well someday head for Hanover. He was born back in April 1943 so he has some time to go yet before matriculation. A 1 is now a property owner and his new address is 144 Goodhue Drive, Akron. His work concerns mainly doing technical service on pigments for the rubber, paint, ink and paper industries. His close association with the synthetic rubber program lias given him real insight into one of the major headaches of our war economy. He knows at first hand how true are the dire threats that continue to come out of Washington concerning the shortage of both passenger and truck tires, and how John Q. Public won't get any tires until well into 1945 Ensign Uri Munro has finished his Navy Radar training at Boston and is expected to head for Corpus Christi, Texas on March 1 or thereabouts Lt. (jg) Sam Dillon is executive officer aboard an "LCI" in the Mediterranean. Latest news is that he has seen action at both Sicily and Salerno.

Pvt. Bob Kirstein's new address is APO, New York, N. Y Gene Jones is now a Lieutenant Colonel Dick Rush is now a special assistant to the president of the All America Aviation, Inc. of Wilmington, Del DonMiller is still busily engaged in ship building activities for the Canadian Government at his post in Washington, D. C. His job mainly concerns landing craft these days. He arranges for the procurement of materials for Canadian made landing craft and spends a good deal of time in the coordination of that government's activities with those of the United States Navy since the program of both count ries is really a joint program. Needless to say, details of his job cannot be given. Don's daughter is now nine months old and has her father's affections pretty well sewed up Joe Kiernan was recently seen with the music department's Don Cobleigh at a concert given by Robert Casadesus at Washington's Constitution Hall. Both were in Marine Corps uniform, Joe with his Second Lieutenant bars. .... Since Ed Ryan has been in the Service we haven't had a word from him, but reports are that he is moving around pretty fast these days Lt. (jg) Kenny Stearns' address is F.P.0., San Francisco, Calif Art Sprague sent along a letter with his check for the Alumni Fund. He is saving his pennies for a personal event a good deal bigger than any Alumni Fund Drive. At the time of his writing it was exactly twenty-five months and seven days since he first landed at the Signal Office, Dow Field, Bangor, Me. Art, now a warrant officer junior grade, thinks he sees the end of his stay in view. Plenty of basketball has kept Art fit this year.

New Lieutenants are Fred Vogt, Jim Hathaway, Jack Gray, Dud Meredith, and Al Reimman Capt. August Paeschae can be found at the General Section Academic Dept., Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga The December issue of the American Surgical Trade Association Journal contained an account of a close call experienced by its former associate editor of Medical Economics. Capt. Pat O'Sheel, now press relations officer with the American Forces at Bougainville, was wounded when a Japanese bomb demolished a War Correspondent's tent on the island last November. An Australian correspondent was killed by the explosion and three other men were wounded Capt. Marion Reed, USMCR, has had quite a few hectic experiences in Guadalcanal and other points in the Southwest Jack Devlin was married February 19 to Dorothy Anne Cox of Pittsfield. They are doing their best to get located in war-swollen Boston where Jack is putting in long hours for New England Carbide Tool Cos., helping make carbide tipped and diamond tipped cutting tools New Ensigns are Russ Bishop and Lawrence Sheffield Butch Nichols' wife Ellen sends news of the family. Butch left for the southwest Pacific before Christmas. Daughter Karen Elizabeth was born February 1 in Salinas, California. Butch hasn't seen her yet, but we have the inside information that Karen was the fairest baby in the nursery. Even the baby's nurse at the hospital was the daughter of a Dartmouth graduate so it seems that Karen is off on the right foot from the moment of birth.

Ensign Carl Gram can be found at the Section Base, Tompkinsville, L. 1., New York .... the Rev. El Eldridge, late of the Far Northwest seems to have settled down at 8 Abbott St., Nashua, N. H Hal Putnam has wound up his indoctrination at Princeton and was home for a few days leave. He writes that he didn't land Les Barrett in seamanship, but it turned out to be a good course anyway. He says Les is just as popular at Princeton as he was at Dartmouth and that he is being shipped up to Plattsburg, N. Y. as a member of the staff of the new indoctrination school there. While Put was away, his wife and daughter visited Les and his wife at Princeton and from all accounts, Wendy, Hal's daughter, turned the party into an uproar. Put had his pick and took Armed Guard which will give him a good look at the world even if it is from an oversized bathtub

The news from acting treasurer, Francis T.Fenn, is that Fran's eyes which have resulted in his rejection by the services have finally been O.K.'d by the Army and it appears that a successor must be chosen for his job of acting-treasurer. Suggestions and volunteers for this most responsible position should be forthcoming from classmates. Fran, not taking his duties lightly, has maintained the high standard set by Art Ruggles. As a result, after expenses, our total assets have increased several hundred dollars over last year. A sound financial condition is essential to class unity and continuity and suggestions are in order.
