"Hobe" was reelected as District Attorney of Worcester County, to his third term in the November election, receiving a plurality of 27,377 votes, being one of the most decisive victories achieved by any candidate for county office in years. Only two Republicans were elected to county offices in Worcester County. The Gardner News said "that his re-election, which was conceded early, was an outstanding personal triumph, and he has every reason to be proud of the result. All the towns which comprise his home section gave him the brand of support that must have warmed his heart. It was a tribute from a legion of friends who know his worth and appreciate the years of service he has rendered the communities in many capacities."
