A RECENT BULLETIN to all men on our mailing list carried news of the latest comings and goings. This article is to report a most interesting and enlightening Dartmouth Night meeting at Brittingham's restaurant in Hollywood, Thursday October 8. Although many familiar faces were missing, due to calls to service and other obligations, many new residents of this area joined the regulars to fittingly celebrate this all-important occasion.

After a fine dinner President Bob Morris '36 read a most inspiring message from President Hopkins and Bud Walls '38 read the wire he had sent in reply as Secretary of the Association. Chet Huntley of the CBS West Coast News Bureau then spoke on the individual and collective responsibilities of groups such as educators, business men, labor, religious leaders, and press and radio in the current war effort. The climax of a great evening was provided by Bruce Thomas' interesting and exciting story of his experiences with the Commandos on actual raids against occupied Norway and France.

Due to the concentration of Army, Navy, and Marine forces and war industries in this area, many Dartmouth men have recently moved here. We hope they will make themselves known pronto. One of the best ways is to drop in on one of the weekly luncheons held every Tuesday, now at a new location, The Redwood Room of the Savoy Hotel, at the corner of Sixth and Grand in Los Angeles. The new spot has met with the hearty approval of all. We hope a lot of new men will get the Tuesday luncheon habit.
