It is with great sadness that I report the death of our class president Roger Bury. His wife, Lolly, called me to say that he died April 9 very swiftly onboard a ship, the Seaboum Legend, off St. Croix. It was his wish, she said, that he die onboard a ship, and so it was! He loved the sea and had sailing at heart. But there was a big space in that heart for Dartmouth, for whom he worked with all his devotion. He has a son Curt Bury, class of'54, to pass on.

Just received notice that another loyal Dartmouth '27 died, Tom Gillespie, on February 18 at home in New Milford, Connecticut. He retired from General Cable Corp. in 1971. He was married to Dorothy Parsons. He was assistant class agent and editor of the '27 class newsletter, TheSpeak Easy. He was a friendly, gentle person.

'Tis sad to say goodbye to these devoted persons, but 'tis the order of things.
