CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS in hockey and basketball, and a greatly improved showing in swimming and track, have been delightful features of life in Hanover in recent months. Our congratulations to the four coaches—Ed Jeremiah, Ossie Cowles, Karl Michael, and Harry Hillman. In every case these men have secured fine results from their squads which at the beginning of the year did not loom as of such high caliber.

Probably the greatest forward line known to all-time intercollegiate hockey was the pride and joy of Coach Jeremiah during the past season when those three sophomores, with the talented help of their team members, broke all records in the hockey book.

With the basketball team headed for the NC4A play-offs there is a chance for the Big Green to win the national title in addition to its fifth consecutive Eastern League Championship.

Never have games in Hanover been so exciting. There has been a fighting competitive spirit in the air that has kept the crowds at hockey and basketball contests in a frenzy of cheering and all-out support of the players. The games have played an important part in maintaining student morale. They have been convincing that one thing needed in war-time is maintenance of sports and recreation.
