OWEN LATTIMORE, political adviser toChina's Generalissimo Chiang Kaishek and son of Professor David Lattimoreof the Dartmouth history department, visited Hanover on March 10, 11 and 12 todeliver the 1942 Guernsey Center MooreFoundation lectures. Under the generalsubject of "Asia and the World Today" hegave three public talks on the origins ofthe Far Eastern war, China's role in theworld conflict, and the future relation ofAsia to the Western world. Excellently delivered and timely in their authoritativecontent, Mr. Lattimore's lectures were wellattended and were declared by many to beone of the best series of Moore lecturesever presented by the College. Mr. Lattimore, who is director of the Walter MinesPage School of International Relations atJohns Hopkins, will return to Chunking atthe termination of his present leave of twomonths.
