Judge Hodson records that Ginter Pratt is the first Dartmouth man in ten years to visit Seattle and leave without having to sing "Eleazar" with him. As John Lowell Pratt, vice president of A. S. Barnes Sc Cos., a New York sports book publishing company which gets out the football, basketball and kindred official guides, Ginter was in Seattle concluding arrangements with a football statistical bureau. The closest the Judge came to Publisher Pratt was his picture in the Seattle Sunday papers, and stores featuring the deal. Then Ginter was off for Sun Valley.

Chris Born is a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, presently stationed at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Alabama. Carl Norden is in the U. S. Foreign Service, writes from the American Consulate, Paramaribo, Dutch Guiana:
"I have been here some fourteen months, having come here to open a consulate last year. Before that was in Prague, a very interesting assignment though a trying one what with the Germany Army and the Gestapo everywhere in evidence. The year just preceding the War, from Munich until August 24, 1939, I was assigned to Berlin, and that ringside seat provided about the most interesting year I have spent since the days of Jess Hawley teams. Paramaribo has been very good experience, especially opening an office. This was verra incognita when I came, but gradually got to be in the news, as you know. Am not married.... a rolling stone and all that. The ALUMNI MAGAZINE is the more enjoyed and appreciated in that the snows of Hanover are an almost implausible memory in this torrid clime."
