The inevitable has come about; our beloved Secretary Emeritus has passed on. "Skid" died Wednesday morning, January 6th. For a number of weeks previously he became weaker and until near the very end suffered somewhat.

Many tributes to him by prominent men appeared in the newspapers and Governor Blood ordered the flag on the State House placed at half mast.

Former United States Senator George H. Moses '90, who had been a constant visitor with him, and who took over and carried on as "pinch hitter" for GraniteChips, wrote a very wonderful tribute which appeared in the Concord Monitor the day of "Skid's" death. There was also a very fine editorial tribute in the same paper, January 7 th.

Harry Metcalf, President Cox, George Dodge and your secretary were the '93 representatives at the funeral. (See In Memooriam.)

Secretary, 795 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, Mass.
