Last month time did not permit me to give any but the most cursory mention of Billy Mann's death. However, Skid, in his obituary, expressed for us all our sorrow at losing so companionable and lovable a classmate. We will miss him at our 50th. fn addition to this obituary, H. C. P. in his "Granite Chips" of Sept. 2nd paid a very fine tribute to Billy Mann, and it would be well wTorth anyone's time and effort to se- cure this copy of the Concord Monitor.

A post card was received from Mrs. Sel- den late in Sept. advising us of the death of her husband on July 20th of this year. We have recorded in previous issues the fact that he had been ailing for a year or more, spending a considerable portion of his time at the hospital in New York City. We believe his death was caused by a heart ail- ment, but our information beyond that is limited.

Griffith reports everything well with him. Gould, his youngest son, is somewhere overseas. His daughter Grace has been entered for Smith College. "Eddie" is about to assume the duties of President of a bank in Manchester, Vermont, of which he has been Vice President for some time.

Skid writes cheerfully that his interest (at the time of our communication from him) is being taken up with the local New Hampshire political situation and with the World Series, the latter because of Red Rolfe, Penacook's outstanding citizen and Skid's good friend, playing his last profes- sional games in that series.

Joe Merrill's new address is 7 Bay View Ave., Port Washington, Long Island, N. Y.

An interesting document received re- cently indicates that John Child is now enjoying his retirement doing Civil De- fense Work in Norwalk, Connecticut. John retired from business June goth, at which time a testimonial banquet was given him at the Oakdale Tavern, Wallingford, Con- necticut. He had been connected with R. Wallace & Sons Manufacturing Company for twenty-eight years. During the summer, he took a very enjoyable automobile trip going as far west as Oklahoma. Good health and pleasant days, John.
