A couple of issues ago, we mentioned having listened in vain for the appearance of Bob Button on the Stars & Stripes radio program from London. But, as Bob's father wrote, "He made his appearance all right. .... He broadcast from Ulster where he was a ist It. connected with the Coast Artillery. He handled the program for about six minutes with a little act explaining how one of their big searchlights was handled. Bob has since been transferred to the Intelligence Dept. He was recently entertained at the home of Sir Anthony Eden. There he had a most interesting evening and met many well known people." Thanks to Mr. Button for clarifying the situation, and for bringing us up to date on Bob's where- and what-abouts.

With the payments of class dues that have been coming in, Jocko Morrison has received a few news items Bill Crangle is the father of another daughter, Cathryn. He's been an ensign since October Rog Metcalf, now a member of the Army Medical Corps, recently married Miss Olive Gledhill of West Hartford, Conn,.... Bud Schulberg has been out of the country for the past half year. We don't know just what he's been up to; but one of these days maybe he'll tell us all about it Johnny Creigh is on a destroyer in the Pacific.

The Navy has promoted Bud Horn and Ken Wilson to the rank of Lt. (j.g.). In the same breath, Johnny Hardham and Al Roberts have been given two silver bars by the Army.

Congratulations to Ted and Pat Andrew on the arrival of a nine-pound girl, Carole, on January 12th.

Recently, we spent a pleasant day with Theo (Mrs. Bob) Prentice who showed us a flock of snapshots she took of Bob when she visited him down in Florida. We'd like to get our hands on one of the pics, print it on these pages and offer it as evidence of what Army life can do for a guy. He certainly looks great! The last fifteen minutes of our visit we spent getting Bob's latest address down in black and white. As Army addresses go, Bob's is quite an envelopeful: Pvt. Robert M. Prentice, "A" Stage Classification, Building 120, W.S.A.U.T.C., Camp Pinedale, Fresno, California.

Thanks to the College publicity bureau, we were sent some clippings that concern us: An item (illustrated) about ist Lt. Bob Burr's being stationed with the Marines on an island in the Southern Pacific. Another item about the marriage of Lt. Tom Monagan USNR to Miss Margaret Keyhoe of Brooklyn, on February 6th. Tom is now stationed in Norfolk, Va.

Speaking of clippings, Weecie (Mrs. Bob) Morris took matters into her own hands and sent in a clipping about the engagement of Ens. Jim Conkling to Miss Donna King. To quote the news item, "The couple met three years ago on a 'blind date' in New York. Conkling proposed via long-distance telephone from Wilmington, Del., where he is stationed."

According to Mrs. M., Bob is still practicing law in Los Angeles, and is even busier than ever now that his boss is Attorney General of California: "He has numerous outside activities that manage to keep him in town several nights a week—l only hope they are business, too! He is on the executive board of the Citizen's Committee for the Defense of American-Mexican youth; is President of the Junior Barristers of Los Angeles; is on the executive board of the Lawyers' Guild, etc. etc."

"Renny and Franny Ostrom, with Rickey and Peter, have moved here and live just a few blocks from us. Renny is District Sales Manager of Southern California for Morton Salt Cos. Except for being covered with poison oak—acquired at the Rose Bowl Game, Renny seems as happy as ever Ensign Brad Petersen is back in town at present. .... As for family life—our little girl, Margot, was killed in an automobile accident—and we had a little boy in November, Michael Kenny MorrisDartmouth '60."

Just as we were convincing ourselves that New York is practically void of any of our gang, the telephone rang—with Chic Thompson calling. Knowing that he is a native Washingtonian, we had a hunch that it wouldn't take long for Chic to get into some branch of the Service. We were right. Chic's been in the Navy for quite some time. What brings him to N. Y. is a special course up at Fort Schuyler. We'll be seeing him one of these days, and we'll wangle some news out of him.

Did we say "news"? The word reminds us of a familiar plea.... one which we have made every month: Please drop us a line so that we can forward it to the rest of the bunch via this column. Send us a picture of yourself. Seeing is believing in this league, too! And need we add a re- minder that parents and wives—all mighty important members of our '36 family—can help us, if they will, by sending us news of John and Bill and Steve!
