Bugles bunks bell-bottom trousers .... HUP-two-three-£our .... all of which is to indicate that the Secretary, having become an active member of the U. S. Naval Reserve in the Dartmouth "fleet," is up to his G.I. haircut in Naval Organization, mathematics, drill, and other items of daily routine connected with pre-officer training. Partly on these grounds, and partly because no news has come in since the last "Newsletter" went out, the Secretary (A/S, USNR) begs to be excused and promises that by October he will have acquired his sea legs—and some news.

A/S EDMUND S. SLY '46 completed recruit training at Great Lakes late in May as honor man of his company.
