BAKER LIBRARY has announced the arrival here from England of what is believed to be the best collection of Robert Burns in this country. The collection, which the College purchased recently from Theodore Besterman, a British collector, contains approximately 1500 volumes and is believed to include all editions of the poet's works printed up to a few years ago, with the exception of the very rare Kilmarnock edition.
An outstanding feature of the collection is a set of about 100 volumes of Thomson's "Scottish Airs," a somewhat rare compilation of songs and music, many of which are by Burns. This is probably the largest collection of the "Airs" in existence.
