Word has beeri received of the death of Harry Stearns in Berkeley, Calif., where he had been a resident for many years. Further notice of his death will be recorded later. Harry came to Hanover in the fall of 1897 from Newton with Jack Andrews, and they lived on the top floor of the Hotel, then run and operated by Hamp Howe. Many were the freshman antics planned from these rooms, and it was a well-known and often frequented place of freshman activities. Oftentimes minor differences were settled in friendly but decisive manner with the gloves. Many of us have never seen Harry since he left Hanover, but to those of us who have met with him, he was the same fine-looking, big husky fellow of forty-five years ago, and he had become a very successful businessman in various lines of endeavor.
Ted Hancock, who has been connected with the Franklin Needle Cos. since graduation, has now sold out his family interest in this concern. The Franklin Needle Cos. has had a very high standing in its particular field and this has been largely due to Ted's own efficient management and personal contacts. Walter F. Duffy Dartmouth '96 is Ted's new boss, whom he says is a fine one and a squareshooter.
