Percy Dorr, our well chosen president and as loyal a 1902 man as we could have, has recently undergone an operation for ruptured gall bladder. His wife writes me that he was operated upon by Dr. Verdi in New Haven. She says he has had a somewhat stormy convalescence but is on his way up. "We all wish him a speedy recovery.
Mr. George W. Elderkin Jr., the son of Prof. George W. Elderkin, has entered the United States Coast Guard Academy at New London, Conn., where he is a member of the class of 1948. We have every reason to hope that with the aid of the Russians the war will be over by that time.
Duke Anguera sends "Saludos" to me and the class. He is still in the engineering department of the U. S. Rubber Cos. at Passaic, N. J., and working hard. He has two daughters on U.S.O. entertainment, singing on radio, and dancing on ballet programs. He says his avocations are music, cabinet making, and eating beefsteak. We would all like to get in on" the latter. Um!
We are glad to report that Guy Abbott is getting back on his feet after a coronary attack followed by pneumonia, which responded to the sulfa drugs, thank God!
"Fitz," our class agent, has done a grand job on the Alumni Fund, getting five more contributors than in 1943 and increasing our gifts to the College by over $7OO.
