WHAT is BELIEVED TO BE the first Dartmouth dinner in San Diego took place in this war-swollen city Wednesday night, August 9th.
Thirteen enthusiastic Dartmouth alumni were present representing classes from 'B9 to '44. After customary libations were poured to Dartmouth in the bar of the San Diego University Club, the party enjoyed a fine chicken dinner.
James C. Flagg of the Class of 'B9 presided at the board and entertained the company with stories of the early days at Dartmouth, when Lebanon was the objective of all young swains and a long haul at that by horse and buggy.
Lt. "Hank" Bryan came in from Chula Vista where he is temporarily stationed as Executive Officer of a Composite Squadron of the Navy Air Force.
Bill Adams '34 was designated to act as secretary for the group and it was agreed to hold a dinner at the University Club of San Diego the first Wednesday of every month. The next dinner will be on September 6. Every Dartmouth man in or near San Diego is most cordially invited to attend these regular dinners. If further details are desired, Adams can be reached at Bayview 7191.
