Coach Tommy Dent has arranged a six game schedule for his soccer squad, which began its season September 16 when the Indians made up for last year's 3-0 defeat by stopping Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 6-3, at Troy, N. Y. The only holdover of experience is Charlie Stebbins, although several newcomers have strengthened the team. Bob Merriam, out for his third letter, has been the spark of the team and is the right inside. Lou Heller is the most improved man on the squad and has blossomed into a good center forward. He is big, fast, and has good coordination. Terry Van Ingren and Bill Peters, former Yale and Harvard players, were veteran halfbacks but had to be moved to strengthen the fullback and halfback slots. The team, moreover, despite its auspicious start, must improve if it is to go anywhere with such opponents as Army and Yale on the schedule.

Although the cross-country team, weakened by the loss of Don Burnham, will begin its season September 23 with Union, Coach Harry Hillman, now in his 36th year at Dartmouth, has not disclosed any information on his runners, still in the process of fighting it out for first-team berths.
