In a recent issue of the Boston Traveler, kindly sent by Lafayette Chamberlin, there is a cut of Mrs. Edwin Newdick. and an article about her by Natalie Gordon under the heading, "Gracious Ladies."
Mrs. Newdick, the former Lila Ahlberg, is a graduate of the Leland Powers School. She and Doris Chinkard form the "Two Woman Theatre," which puts on programs for clubs and similar groups. Mrs. Newdick is reported as "a full-fledged radio program in herself." She writes her own script, and does her own advertising. She has many radio engagements. Her son is an ARM 2-C on a transport plane, and her daughter Ann was the first Red Cross worker in Paris. She marched with the French in their parade two days before the American troops entered the city. The class extends to Mrs. Newdick best wishes for the continued success of her work and that of her son and daughter.
Bob Harding reports that his houses on the Cape did not suffer severe damage from the recent hurricane. He lost some trees. His garage doors were smashed.
Sliver and Mrs. Hatch's son is in India in the Air Transport Command. Their youngest daughter, formerly in the Wave:s, is now at home while her husband is serving in the Armed Forces in the Pacific. Sliver has lunched in New York during the summer with Tubbie Besse, Bill Knibbs and Dr. and Mrs. McCabe.
The two daughters o£ Judge and Mrs. Donnelly are in Smith College. Miss Rosemary is a junior and Miss Betty a sophomore. Judge says that they are very happy there. James, their brother, is ah ensign in the Navy, running somewhere between England and the Continent. James has written very interest ing letters to his father about sights and sounds of D-Day and his contacts with prisoners.
The class sends best wishes to all the '05 sons and daughters in the Armed Services.
Varsity Billman has changed his address to Bieber, Lassen County, Calif. We hope to receive word from him through Walter Nourse.
