Class Reunion - The 60th Hanover, June 12, 13, 14

As mentioned in the April MAGAZINE, future Round-Ups present some problems. To consider these problems, and to bring us in June some definite recommendation as to their solution, the secretary asked Tom and Elisabeth Whittier to head up a group of '99ers. The others are Tat Irving, Tim Lynch, Esther Parker, Herbert and Agnes Watson. If any other members of the Class have suggestions on this subject please contact Tom and Elisabeth.

Personal news this month will be mainly in a newsletter in about ten days. But if you look right now in the "Wah Hoo Wah" column in this issue you may find a name familiar both to '99 and to '32.

Now to our Sixtieth: Remember, (1) Assignment of rooms and arrangement of meals take a bit of planning. So please get busy with your reservation blank if it's not in yet. (2) On arrival in Hanover register promptly at '99 Headquarters in Middle Mass, no matter where you have arranged to room. (3) Sometime between four and five Friday afternoon there will be an informal rally of the crowd in a Social Room, either in Mass Row or in some nearby dormitory. Among the interesting souvenirs to see there will be "Buck" Sammy Burns's Dartmouth scrapbooks, kindly lent for the Reunion by Barbara Burns Stewart of Wellesley. What can you bring? (4) Informal supper together Friday will follow about 6:00 at Thayer. (5) Saturday morning about ten the Class business meeting will be held, and the Reunion pictures taken, - announcement of exact time and place later. (6) It looks as if our attendance will run close to one hundred. (7) The Class Memorial Service comes at 3:30 in the White Church. Montie Fuller will conduct; Florence (Mrs. Charles E.) Cushman will be at the organ. (8) The Family Dinner about 6:30 Saturday evening at Thayer climaxes '99's Big Day. (9) Right after Commencement exercises Sunday morning we are all invited to Phoebe and Jack Stebbins's home at 84 South Main St. (with all the other local families turning to and helping, - the Blanchards, the Jordans, the Musgroves); there we are promised a midday farewell snack. And they've all cordially urged us to stay and visit together as long as we wish. Remember 1954? Yesterday and today, the same unchanging welcome to us who are coming home.

May is one of '99's biggest birthday months: Ralph Hawkes, 83 on the 9th; Tom Whittier, 82 on the 17th; Warren Kendall, 82 on the 22nd; Tim Lynch, 84 on the 25 th. And all four of them will be in Hanover in June.

This is a big year ,in Dartmouth history. By this time you will have received your personal prospectus for the big Capital Gifts Campaign, and the annual Alumni Fund Campaign, which this year are merged in one tremendous effort for the College (no longer "small") that we all love. The biggest opportunity ever to prove that when we say that, we mean it.
