DARTMOUTH COLLEGE CLUB 37 East 39th St.

DARTMOUTH NIGHT at the Club was a big success. Ed Redman '06 reports that about 300 gathered to hear Professor Allen R. Foley '20 raise one laugh after another. A quartet, led by Mox Hubert '23 arid accompanied at the piano by Ed Earle '17, added vocal emphasis to the merriment of the large and enthusiastic audience headed by Dr. Henry Mann Silver of the Class of 1872. A good time was had by all.

Harry C. Mills '24, Club Chairman of the Vocational Committee, reports that every boy who has come to his Committee for help in getting a job has been successfully placed so far. He expects that problems will become more difficult as time passes but is pleased that the organization and ground work has been largely completed at the present time.

Mac Rollins '11, Chairman of the House Committee, reports that his Committee has taken steps to redecorate the Hunt Room next to the bar. New chairs have already been purchased and installed. A rug has been ordered and the entire room should be finally redecorated within a short time.

The Club squash team, which had expected to take over the championship of the "C" league, is now faced with a more difficult proposition because the "C" league has been disbanded. It will meet greater competition than originally expected, because it is now entered in the combination league. This change permits Lieutenant (jg) Whitey Mays '38 to bolster the team at its number one spot.

The Club now has about 650 dues-paying members and new members are coming in all the time. Since September, 1943, Club rolls have risen by about 120 members, which is a fine testimonial to the work of Jack Reeder '25, Chairman of the Membership Committee.
