Guy Gary has moved to 203 N. McClay Street, Santa Ana, Calif. Formerly he lived on this street for many years; .'98 would be delighted to have him write a letter for the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, recounting his life on the Pacific Coast.
F. W. Perkins has been appointed town clerk of Georgetown, Mass., by the board of selectmen. Thus does another '98er bring honor to the class. President Bartlett has appointed John Spring class agent for the ensuing year. Charles Littlefield has done fine work as agent and has earned a well merited rest. Captain Hilton W. Long, son-in-law of the secretary, has been promoted to a major in the Air Corps in the North Atlantic. Fred Bennis writes that the pleasant Saguna Hotel where he and his sister have spent many happy winters may soon be turned over to the U. S. Army.
Joe Bartlett told me one of his last associations with our well loved classmate, Bob Marden:—They were playing a game of golf at Miami, Florida, and Bob was chuckling in his inimitable way because he was leading by a trifle and it looked as though he might win the game. He did win: Joe will always feel happy over the result of that game. He left soon for Boston and Bob was stricken with appendicitis, which proved fatal.
Everett Hoyt's daughter Alice has three children and lives in Arlington Heights, Ill. His son Joseph has two children and his wife and children will spend the winter with the grandparents in Salem, Mass., while Joe is at Trinidad in the employ of the Pan American Airways, as assistant to the Air Post manager.
William Hoyt Jr., the younger son, is unmarried and is a travelling accountant for Pan American Air Ways in South America, Central America, Panama, and Mexico. Everett Hoyt is one of our most loyal '98ers.
Inasmuch as '98 could not have it's Forty-fifth Reunion at Hanover the secretary thought the class might like to see the happy group that were present at our Fortieth in Hanover.
CLASS OF 1898 WHICH SKIPPED ITS 45TH REUNION LAST YEAR, SHOWN AT LAST CLASS GATHERING, HELD IN HANOVER, 1938.
Secretary and Treasurer, 57 Grove Hill Ave., Newtonville, Mass.
