BURIAL SERVICES FOR Dr. Frank H. Dixon, former Dartmouth professor who died at Princeton on January 27, were held in the old Dartmouth Cemetery on January go. Professor Dixon, an authority on railway transportation and former chairman of the Department of Economics at Princeton, was Professor of Economics at Dartmouth from 1898 to 1919 and during that period was one of the eminent members of the College faculty. He was the son-in-law of Dr. William Jewett Tucker, president of Dartmouth College, and is survived by his widow, the former Miss Alice Tucker.
Dr. Dixon was the fourth former Dartmouth faculty member to die within a brief period recently. Professor Arthur Fairbanks '86, who was Professor of Fine Arts from 1926 to 1932 and who served as Director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston for 18 years, died on January 13 and was also buried in the old Dartmouth Cemetery. Professor Charles H. Hawes, who taught anthropology from 1909 to 1917, and Professor George C. Cox, who taught philosophy and education from 191 a to 1915, also passed away recently.
