Always prompt to respond to requests for information, there comes a reply from Classmate George M. Davidson of Oak Park, Illinois, together with his usual generous contribution to the Alumni Fund.
In normal times "Davie" usually gives much time to the enjoyment of his favorite pastime —automobile touring—especially in the winter months, escaping the rigors of the Windy City by visiting different parts of the country in his automobile.
This year, existing war conditions and the resulting difficulties and "gas" restrictions on travelling in some States have caused him to forego his favorite sport for the duration, and he writes he has for the most part remained quietly at home and contented himself with attending meetings of the various Scientific and Technical Societies in Chicago with which he is and was actively connected before his retirement as Chemical Engineer with the Chicago and North Western Railroad Company several years ago.
He writes he is in very good health and devotes much of his spare time this year to planning for his Victory garden which last year was a great success.
The annual meeting of the Dartmouth Secretaries Association at the Algonquin Club, April 10, was very successful and largely attended by over one hundred class secretaries, class agents and treasurers and the prevailing enthusiasm manifested for the Alumni Fund left no doubt that the goal for the large objective set for this year's needs will be ultimately reached.
"Hoppy" as usual was fine and at his best and the story of the present operation of the College as a Naval Training School and the present and prospective needs of the College as set forth was most enlightening and impressive and the full details of the Alumni response will, no doubt, be made known to us at the next meeting of the.Association which, we are glad to note, will be held in the good old Town of Hanover next month, June 9, and we are planning to be there.
