JOSHUA A. DAVIS '27 of Upper Montclair, N. J., has been elected chairman of the Alumni Fund Committee of the Dartmouth Alumni Council for 1944-45. A member-at-large of the Council, he was named Fund chairman at the alumni meetings in Hanover on June 9, to succeed Henry E. Atwood '13 of Minneapolis, who has directed the record-breaking Funds of 1943 and 1944.
Other members of the 1944-45 Fund Committee are Thomas P. Campbell '18, Denver; Eugene Hotchkiss '22, Chicago: Clark Weymouth "26, Rochester, N. Y.; and Alex J. McFarland '30, Boston.
Mr. Davis, the new chairman, is a partner in ReynoMs and Company, members of the New York Stock Exchange. He has been active in Alumni Fund affairs in his own class, serving as assistant class agent. Prominent in Montclair's civic life, he was chairman of the men's division in two community chest drives in recent years and is a lieutenant in the Montclair Police Reserve. As an undergraduate, Mr. Davis was one of Dartmouth's great football centers and played on the championship team of 1925.
