In June of this year "Al" Shilling was deservedly honored by being elected president and treasurer of the Berlin Construction Cos. of New Britain, Conn. After graduating from the Thayer School in 1904, "Al" entered the employ of the Berlin Cos. and has now worked through to the top. "Al" is also vice president of the New Britain Gas Light Cos., and incorporator as well as a director of two of New Britain's saving banks.
Bob Smith is still doing perhaps the grandest work in our class in his "Alcoholic Anonymous" group. The movement is growing steadily and spreading throughout the country. Those who have fallen into alcoholic ways and been helped back, turn about and know how to aid others. It is the greatest movement of the kind I know about and the medical profession bows to Bob who is one of its chief organizers.
