From The Saturday Evening Post comes word that Fred Birmingham, managing editor and associate publisher, now is a member of the board of directors of Curtis Publishing Company.

Fred also is consulting editor of HolidayMagazine. Curtis publishes the Post, Holiday and a number of other magazines.

A nationally known editor and author, he is co-editor with Mrs. Julie Eisenhower of TheSaturday Evening Post Family Cookbook, which was published in December, 1974.

Fred was managing editor of EsquireMagazine from 1945 to 1952 and editor-in-chief that magazine from 1952 to 1957. He also served as executive editor of Fawcett Publications, as editorial director for the General Publishing Company, and as founding editor and first executive editor of Gentlemen'sQuarterly.

He has written ten previous books, including The Esquire Drink Book, The Writers' Craft,Cookbook for Men and How to Succeed atTouch Football. He also has written more than 4,000 articles and stories which have appeared in virtually all leading American magazines. He formerly wrote daily bylined newspaper columns for Bell Syndicate and North American Newspaper Alliances.

Sam Cunningham and his wife Madeline spent the last two weeks of November here in Florida at Sarasota, and hope to return in February or March. If so, we hope to see them.

Jud Pierson reported briefly by telephone regarding Bob Estes and his family. Since 1970 Bob has served as general counsel and secretary of the General Electric Company. Their oldest son, Flank, after receiving a Masters Degree in Engineering from Case Western Reserve, is on the Professional Bowling Circuit; their second son Peter was the Class of '72; and their daughter Lyn is a senior at Colby College (Maine). Pam and Bob visited her while she was in London. The Estes report having seen Jackand Laura Masten, as well as Dave Evans.

John Thompson, president of the Crompton- Richmond Company, has been elected president of The American Printed Fabrics Council for 1974-1975.

Dick Ryan has a change of address from Caldwell. Idaho to Route 1, Box 64, Emmett, Idaho 83617; and Charlie Webster has moved from Darien, Conn, to 109 Ellenton Street, Aiken, South Carolina 29801. What's the occasion?

I have received word from a member of the Class of 1956 that a friend of his found a 1933 Dartmouth ring in a hotel in Rome where he was staying last fall.

If the class member who lost the ring will write to me at the above address identifying the hotel where the ring was lost, I will be happy to arrange to have the ring mailed to the claimant.

The member of 1956 who has the ring is Roger Hurwitz, M.D., of Indianapolis, Ind., who has written to me in the hope of returning the ring to the 1933er who lost it. This seems to me to be the best way of handling it, and I trust we can uncover the owner.

In connection with the current elections for class president, for Randy Valensi's replacement on the executive committee, and for additional executive committee members, I prepared a special analysis of class membership on a numerical and geographical basis, which I am summarizing here as I thought it would be timely and of general interest.

Of the total 1933 membership mailing-list of 547, active graduates and non-graduates represent 466 (363 and 103), plus 41 widows, 12 with foreign addresses or addresses unknown, three with addresses in question, and 25 not interested.

Geographical distribution by regions including widows, follows quite closely the distribution of the total College Alumni and is as follows:
