COMING CLASS EVENTS

Oct. 13th Hotel Oliver, South Bend, before Notre Dame game.

Oct. 27th Hotel Onondaga, Syracuse, before Syracuse game.

Nov. 3rd Picnic luncheon before Yale game. Come around even for a few minutes. The class will meet west of the Cox Memorial Cage which is located on the southwest corner of the large fenced-in field surrounding the Yale Bowl.

Nov. 10th Picnic luncheon before Princeton

game. Meet in parking lot northwest of stadium next to backyard of Court Club. Nov. 17th Hanover week-end. The executive committee and class officers are inviting members of the class to meet with them in Hanover for a discussion on class affairs during the week-end of the Cornell game. We hope many will be able to arrange a visit to Hanover at this time.

Nov. 24th Columbia game. Meet under north goal post for a few minutes after game.

HANOVER NEWS:—The class of 1920 recently claimed it had one of the largest class groups in Hanover. Our delegation of ten equals their group. Which brings up the subject of a very enjoyable week-end spent in Hanover the latter part of August. Sorry I did not have time to see everyone, but did get the following news Allen, on semester leave, is writing a book Atherton still in Navy and now stationed at the University of Michigan Bartlett in the Navy on a very hush-hush job. .... Bridge looking after finances in the "Ad" building Coyle, a medical officer in the Navy Foley just purchased a building for his Dartmouth Press Miller still flying his plane as he carries on his duties as Coroner of the State of New Hampshire..... Sycamore X-Ray specialist at the hospital Robinson, Chairman of the Math Department. Strong, looking after 1924's sons who have started to arrive in Hanover and who now number three, Higley, Gallup, Kibbe Blodgett, looking fine and busy at his "Roaring Brook Farm" in Bradford Jim Taylor's daughter is attending Colby Junior College, so he will be a frequent visitor in Hanover.

SERVICE RECORD BOOKLET: Chinee Allen has agreed to write a history of our class in the War and Ken Foley will handle the printing. We hope to have this interesting brochure ready by Christmas so we need your immediate help. Will all men in the service please cooperate by sending to me a photograph in uniform. These will be turned over to the College for its records after its use in the booklet. Also please send service data blank to college at once.

Look for Leon Rothschild as guest editor, reporting soon on California. He must do a grand job as secretary of the Southern California Club for he has been elected again. Leon made the million dollar Round Table Club of Life Insurance men last year Larry Kugelman is another club secretary, reporting on the Montreal delegation. Larry is with International Paper Company. Returning from Maine, had a visit with Frank Harrington in Worcester and later dinner with the Spauldings. Kae and Spud visited Hanover this summer. Had breakfast with Roly Taylor (now in real estate), and Cleve Poole, Hartford banker (Phoenix State Bank & Trust Comany) continued to Bridgeport where preny Gallup arranged a luncheon at his golf club with Ed Spargo and Stan Lonsdale. Preny won a handicap 50th Anniversary Tournament at the Brook lawn Club. He slips off very often from the Meigs store for an afternoon game. Lucky stiff, Preny has one boy in Dartmouth and three more on the way..... BudTice has purchased a farm and estate in Llanerch, Pa Roy Sloane is manager of the Retail Credit Office in Bridgeport and lives in North Haven.

Some time ago, Cleve sent in the following. Pop Foster is still living at 249 Garden Street, Wethersfield, Conn., and during working hours is an auditor with the Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford. Miriam and Pop have two active boys, Peter, 17, attending the Navy Air School at Yale, and Bill, 15, still in high school Another of the Hartford leading lights is Dave Solly who is assistant treasurer and one of the financial big-wigs of the Aetna Fire Insurance Company. He and his wife, Rosalyn, and their eight year old daughter, live at 85 Mohawk Drive, West Hartford.

Dick Hess and his wife, Elizabeth, make their home at 1602 3rd Avenue, Fort Dodge, lowa. They have a fifteen-year-old daughter, Barbara, and twins, Carolyn and Anthony, ten years old. Dick is manager of a U. S. Gypsum Company plant Duke Keegin is a patent and trade mark attorney in Washington and his partner is Harry Semmes, class of '13. Keegin and his family, including three children, have a sixty-six acre estate outside of Washington Fred IV. Maguire has recently been named publicity director for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis Leonard E. Rautenberg has just been elected vice president of the State Bank of Kenmore, New York, which is a suburb of Buffalo. He has been in this bank since he graduated and was formerly cashier. A meeting some time ago with Dana Haskin and his family prompted the following letter from him: "In October 1943 I resigned from the Interstate Commerce Commission and moved my family to Montpelier, Vermont, where I had been appointed Regional Manager for the Vermont Transit Company. I have complete charge of all operations covering the area from my headquarters through to Portland, Boston and Springfield and handle public relations work at the Capitol. My son and daughter will be entering high school in the fall."

Paul Gordon is a major in the "Army and his father in Cleveland writes: "Paul is Area Officer for China of the Squadron, which means that he is in charge of personnel, equipment, instruments, food, etc., of the Air Forces weather stations in unoccupied China, and travels by air and jeep over this area. Some of the stations are in abandoned Chinese temples ln remote places. He has been in China since December 1944, and when dining with Chinese eats his food with chopsticks like a native. At a recent formation of the University Club of Kunming, the first member to note his name badge Mas a Chinese who had his degree at Dartmouth in 1930."

Alex Gibson has had a very interesting career in the educational field. Following his graduation he received an A.M. at Columbia in 1928 and then studied in France. While studying for his A.M. he taught in the Burlington High School and then had a succession of interesting positions in various schools around the country. At the present time he is professor of French at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.
