Ex-president Warren Agry '45, pinch-hitted for prexie Charlie Altman '24, who was vacationing in Havana, Cuba, when some 30 Dartmouth alumni, students, prospective students, and friends gathered on December 27 in the Bamboo Room of Mammy's Shanty on world-famous Peach tree Street for our annual Christmas luncheon. After doing justice to the excellent meal, we turned our attention to "Mr. Dartmouth in Georgia," Lou Fortuna '3B, who told us how the enrollment program was progressing and gave the prospective students present a few helpful suggestions. Don Shropshire of the class of 1961 reported that the football picture at Dartmouth should continue to be bright for several years.

Warren teamed with Win Snow '14, to lead us in a few verses of beloved college songs. The regulars, such as Alva Wilson '25, Dick Sears '47, Al Starret '29, and Carl Evans '48, gave their lusty, if not ..harmonious, support. It was a pleasure to welcome some relatively new faces in this area, including Rog Antaya '44, and Bud Purdy '29. Bill Hartshorn '45, substituted for our Treasurer, Vail Haak '49, who was spending the Christmas holidays in Boston. George Beal '34, John Hamilton '25, and Gordon Jones helped to make it a full house.

Students Bob Kahn '60, and Ned Nabers '60, extolled to the prospective students present the virtues and advantages of our Alma Mater. Jerre Sumter '61, also helped by bringing his projector and approximately 30 colored slides he had taken of the campus. They gave the prospective students their first glimpse of the Hanover Plain, and some of the snow scenes (though the snow was light) caused a few of us displaced d—yankees to feel a twinge of homesickness.
