Van told the story of the Penn game weekend party in the last issue of the News Letter. The weather, the accommodations at Moose Mountain Lodge, the fine gang and even the game, helped to make this one of the most enjoyable class officers' get-togethers that we've ever had. Fifty for dinner Saturday night was quite a turn-out. Incidentally, we're going to plan another class officers' meeting, in preparation for the 25th Reunion, on the 16th of October, when Colgate plays Dartmouth in Hanover.

The Class is very fortunate in having KenDavis to head up the Reunion Committee. The Executive Committee is very confident he will do a bang-up job for the Class. He has a boy who will enter Dartmouth next year, so it won't be very hard for him to make the many necessary trips to Hanover to arrange for the Reunion. Here's hoping all who are asked to serve on the committee will get in back of Ken and help make our Reunion an outstanding class event.

Not much news on the football games this fall. No one reported the Syracuse game. How come? Where were the Buffalo and Rochester delegates? Had a report on the Harvard game from Luit and Spud. We gather from all reports that the boys had a very enjoyable, although not large, turn-out for the dinner at the Boston City Club and the big rally that followed. To quote from Spud: "The boys went through the perennial guessing game as to what that fellow's name was over at another table, quaffed a few, and settled down to a fine dinner and the usual round of good stories. Ced Foster led in this department. For some reason or other, a news commentator seems to have access to many of the choicer yarns of the current season—more so than newspaper reporters and traveling salesmen. Bob Ellsworth was in town from Miami, but unfortunately didn't know about the meeting. Luit showed the boys a number of pictures of the Luitwiler family on their October 11 weekend at their home in Greenville, N. H. They had to close up their summer place and consequently could not attend the Penn game festivities. Parker Hicks and his younger son were present. His older boy is in Hanover. Warren Mollis, now New England Regional Service head for Chrysler Motors, Ed Bailey, Dana Bent, Brad Hersey,Tillie Lourie, Dave Perry, Red Maloney,Arnie Jenkins, Ev Baker and Ted Leamard completed the group. Ted's oldest daughter is at Dana Hall. Luit's daughter, Sally, has her father seriously interested in field hockey as a spectator, every time she takes up her defense position on the Winchester High team. For any of those who may be forced to read these words, and who may wonder how good the revived post-war version of a football rally can be, let it be said the occasion remains a howling success."

Over the Penn-game weekend the class inaugurated a party for the sons o£ classmates now in Hanover. From talking with the boys, it seemed they enjoyed the chance to meet some of the other fellows in the college and if it weren't for such a party there would be no way that they could become acquainted. Next year we hope there will be a larger attendance at the reception although we were very gratified to see so many of the boys on hand to greet their fathers' classmates and meet the sons now in college. An expression from the fathers on whether we should continue this would be appreciated.

Thanks to Chinee Allen I have just learned that there are eleven freshmen, who are sons of classmates, now in Hanover—Albert S."Aiidy" Anderson's son, Albert E. Anderson. .... Hanover insurance tycoon's son, Selwyn Atherton; Howard Bissell (Cleveland lawyer) has a son, George, who is on the freshman football team and was the hero of one of the games when he caught a touchdown pass; Wes Blake Jr. will probably spend a good deal of his time at his father's ski development in Vermont, not far from Hanover; Pop Foster has a son, Bill. .... Pop is in the insurance business in Hartford and lives in Weathersfield, Conn.; SiGeilich's son, Charlie.... Yale Game

There were very few at the Yale game and the writer seemed surrounded by strangers. Drew Byers and his wife were there, we were told. Sam Ellis and wife were next to us. They left after the game to visit their daughter who is in school in Northfield, Massachusetts. Doug Craig reported later that he attended with a neighbor and a car-full of boys.

Jim Hutton is on the Board of Directors of the Association of Stock Exchange Firms. Charlie Altman and his wife, now living in Atlanta, Gavisited in the North this summer and made a pilgrimage to Hanover. .... Dick Henry recently received a letter from Ed Jones from Palm Springs, California, as follows: "My daughter, Gail, and I were in Hanover at the Inn this summer. Of all the places I've lived since college days, and that covers most of the world, New England is still a pretty swell place. After the war, built several houses in Pompano Beach, Florida, for rental. My folks live there and take care of them. Now have started out here. Since October 1, have built one house for myself and have started on a model house. Hurricane did some damage to places in Florida but it was more of an experience than anything else. And what an experience!"

Dick also reports that he talked to Bill Doe on the telephone while he was visiting in New York recently. Bill has a son at Dartmouth who attended the reception in Hanover Dick and his wife are bound for a long-put-off vacation. Understand they are heading for Florida and Dick is taking his golf clubs along. He's still driving them far and straight down the middle of the fairway.

Have you paid your class dues? If not, mail your check at once to Dick Henry. See you in Hanover in June 194.
