Eleanor Huse, daughter of Pete's daughter Mrs. Walter Daniel Huse, was married on Jan. 6, in Laconia, N. H., to Willard Henry Kemp Jr., lieutenant in the Army Air Force. We congratulate the lieutenant, for we remember how much pleasure Eleanor and her young companion, Spud's grandson, gave us during our Fiftieth Reunion.
The secretary joyfully received holiday greetings from Spud, Pete, Philbrook, Quimby, Wales, Biff, Burley, and Mary Frost. Spud became an octogenarian on Dec. 18 and sent us a picture of himself and his handsome ten-months-old dog. They appear to be about the same age. Newton, en route to Florida, spent the night of Dec. 17 with me. He seemed well and has written that, with the help of a Winter Park doctor, he is fifty per cent better in health than he was last winter. His address is 526 Interlachen Ave., Winter Park, Fla. He says that he received a royal welcome from the University Club of Winter Park, of which he was the first secretary, and from the Rotary Club of Orlando.
See the January issue of the MAGAZINE for the list of gifts Newton received for the Alumni Fund in loving memory of our '86 men who have passed on.
