RICHARD C. CRABTREE '45 on his 100th mission was the first American pilot to land in France. Rick always. had something he wanted to finish before he took his long overdue leave. On his 111th mission he was reported missing in action. We know that somewhere he is finishing up something and hope when he has done it to his satisfaction he will be able to report back in person to the squadron he led.
Al Foley '20 who ordinarily teaches history in Hanover but has had to do a turn at physics during the war, talked at a luncheon meeting here. An overflow crowd left better informed and in much higher spirits.
Paul Sample '20 who grew up in Chicago and became Dartmouth's Artist-in-Residence was on another mission for Life Magazine when the Japanese caught up with him at Leyte; but Pab dived into a ditch in time to escape the strafing they gave his jeep.
Cappy Jackson '19 was here for a few days. He looked 45 years old when he was born and has not changed since. Ben Bishop '22 also was in town from Hartford, Conn. Tom Maver '45 writes that a small but mighty group of Dartmouth men aided by an album of Dartmouth phonograph records are maintaining the old traditions at Boca Raton, Florida.

A/S Edward A. Mortimer Jr. '44 was married in New York during the holidays to Joan F. Rothwell, Smith '44. His brother S 1/C Robert T. Mortimer '47 who is attached to the armed guard in the merchant marine shipped out the day before the wedding, but among others who managed to be there were Koo Delaney '43, Harry Kramer '4.2, Dick Proctor '43, Jack Tope '44, Eddie Anderson '44, Monte Duval '44 (with Mrs. Monte Duval who is very attractive) Walt Blackadar '44, Brad Long '44, Jack Whitman '46, and Jack Rankin '46. Ted and his bride took a short trip to Florida and are going to live in Chicago while he finishes a medical course at Northwestern University.
